Gloss Black De-Chrome
Audi Bradford is great client of ours at Reforma. Often bringing the latest in the line of their sports lines of vehicles. This Audi S3 is no exception. Finished in this beautiful rich blue, the client was after a full chrome delete consisting of the mirror caps, window surrounds, front/ rear bumpers, grille surround/ accents and finally the side sills. Covering this amount of chrome and silver is always bound to transform the vehicles aesthetics.

The Process
The process with de-chromes can be very long and time intensive. As these parts are very small and detailed, the preparation involved is very much in-depth. Each parts is stripped from the vehicle and cleaned down. Our vehicle wrappers apply primer to all corners to ensure the vinyl doesn’t lift going forward. Using a combination of 3M 2080 Gloss/ Satin Black, our team carefully applied the vinyl and accurately trimmed around each edge. With a slight application of heat, the vinyl bedded in around the corners leaving our vehicle wrapper to apply some final bits of pressure to ensure the vinyl is adhered to the surface. Once all the parts are wrapped, a final quality control check is conducted by our workshop manager to ensure he is happy with the standard of work conducted. If he isn’t, that part or piece is stripped and re-done immediately.

The Results
The final results on this Audi S3 were impeccable. The chrome prior to the wrap was such a distinctive feature however now with the full black pack, the factory blue almost stands out more. De-chromes are often described as subtle and understated and this vehicle is a great example of just that.
